Chapter 2: The Drive
As a newly and fully unprepared father starting a new company, the drive to help children was my cornerstone. No matter what, I couldn't let Yuki or other children in need down. I had no idea how important that drive would become.
That drive is critical as the journey is ever changing and unpredictable even before a pandemic! My previous career consisted of me leading a talented team of up to 10 functional professionals. Now it was just me...in my basement.
That drive was anchored when I was at a University of Iowa football game. Unbeknownst to me, at the end of 1st quarter, the entire stadium turned and waved to the Children's hospital that overlooks the field. As I faced countless children battling cancer staring back at me with big smiles it all clicked. It's all about the children.
I got back to my hotel that night and wrote my wife a long text message about that experience and that whatever entrepreneurial trail I blaze it was towards to helping children in need.

I am reading through your posts, and am so glad you found this path. I have been dealing with GERD and the anxiety associated with what this damage will do to my body long term, and finding your site gives me hope in finding a diet that will hopefully help my body heal. I also live in IC, and have been a lifelong Hawkeye fan!

I just ordered my first variety pack of Lovebird cereal and read 8 chapters of your journey this morning. I too am looking to eliminate unhealthy foods from my diet in order to make the last years of my life as healthy as possible. I’m looking forward to your cereal contributing to that goal and path. Good fortune to you as you bring a much needed product to healthy living at any age.
